My practice explores the intersection of organic spontaneity and the structural wisdom of traditional craft. Moving away from mechanical precision, I prioritize the human touch, treating the loom as a space for mindful making. Weaving to me is a deliberate, meditative process that seeks to elevate the natural creativity of the mind through the labor of the hands. Between Science and the Foggy Space With a foundational background in engineering and neuroscience, I approach weaving as both a tactile craft and a quiet study of perception. I balance the rhythmic, physical movement of the loom with a deep, analytical understanding of materials. The name Magicthinking represents a realization of how I perceive myself as a dreamy person who often explores the somewhat foggy spaces of the mind. The human mind is a magical vessel where unexpected things wait to be discovered, and I use hand-weaving to filter these thoughts into physical forms. What you find in each piece is a deliberate dialogue between the organic and the manufactured, celebrating the delicate stories that emerge when spontaneity meets deep reflection. The Intuition of the Loom Having discovered Saori weaving in 2014, I developed my skills through a community that emphasizes self-learning and personal expression. I weave with passion, focusing on what human hands can achieve that machinery cannot. Because I listen strictly to my feelings and environmental interactions during the process, a textile often transforms into something entirely unexpected. I rarely know exactly what I am creating until the piece is completely off the loom, washed, and ready to speak for itself. Current Practice & Vision My current practice is centered on a desire to dismantle the boundaries between art and craft.
